“While Grandparents add to children’s lives, children add to their Grandparents lives too. Many older people say that keeping up with their grandchildren keeps them young.”
Intergenerational Playgroups are fast becoming a favourite playgroup for young children, parents, caregivers and grandparents alike. While sharing a similar approach to regular community playgroups, Intergenerational Playgroups offer something extra special.
Through partnerships with aged care facilities, residences and lifestyle programs – playgroups are closing generational gaps to minimise isolation within local communities. Our goal is to connect families from all communities to create a village through play.

Old People’s Homes for Four Year Olds
In partnership with Playgroup Australia and the ABC, we are delighted to be taking part in a new Series “Old Peoples Home for 4 Year Olds” in raising awareness of the benefit of play for all ages.
The ABC series “Old People Homes for Four Year Old’s is a 5 part series exploring the positive impact around Intergenerational Play – and the effect on mood, mobility and make believe – designed to drive change to the way we approach aged care programs and ageism. In the series, ABC follows the experiences of aged care residents as they welcome 10 pre-school aged children through a weekly program. The groups are encouraged to take part in activities designed to enrich daily life and provide meaningful interactions between the young and young at heart. The experiment is supported by leading academic Susan Kurrle, expert Geriatrician, and Physiologist.
